October 2026 India Intercessor
Friends,
The International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church is coming up on November 1, and it couldn’t be a more appropriate time.
Persecution in India is increasing. This summer, the state of Maharashtra became the 13th state to ratify an anti-conversion law—and already, Indian Christians have found themselves behind bars because of it. Church services are being disrupted, families are being separated, and some faithful believers have lost their lives.
Friends, as persecution in India gets worse, your prayers for our brothers and sisters are more necessary than ever. They are so powerful, in fact, that in 1 Samuel 12:23, Samuel says that he would consider it a sin against the Lord if he didn’t pray for the Israelites. Then, in Galatians 6:2, Paul considers carrying one another’s burdens in prayer to be fulfilling the law of Christ.
As you pray for our brothers and sisters in India this month, I hope you are encouraged: your prayers for the persecuted church are so powerful that they are the fulfillment of the law of Christ.
You are inspiring the Holy Spirit to move in underground churches, hidden prayer meetings, and even jail cells.
Thank you for praying with me this October!
Together, for India,
Todd VanEk
