Walking in Bravery Where God Has Called

Have you ever found yourself in a situation that required you to be brave in what God was asking you to do?

In the book of Esther, we see a young woman who wrestles with an unthinkable task that could likely get her killed – but she musters up the bravery to trust God regardless of the circumstance. Esther 4:16 says, “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”

In those simple words, Esther’s bravery shows a boldness and trust in God’s plan. Regardless of what may happen, she knows that God is calling her to speak up on behalf of her people to save their lives.

In today’s world, we can continue to see encouraging examples of God’s people being brave like Esther. Look no further than Manipur, India. You may have heard that violence broke out in this area in early May. What started as tribal unrest, appears to have quickly turned to targeted violence against Christians in Manipur. The violence has left 70 people dead, over 300 churches burned, houses razed to the ground and thousands of families devastated.

The aftermath? Many families are now residing in makeshift relief camps. Others have been reported to be hiding out in nearby jungles, wondering where their next meal will come from.

Many Christians in Manipur have been faced with the unthinkable – requiring them to be brave in following what God is asking of them. They’re not stepping back from their faith, even after everything they’ve been through!

What does this mean for me?

You can be a Difference Maker by standing with Christians in Manipur in this heartbreaking circumstance. We’ve been working with partners on the ground in India to put together Relief Kits, filled with basic necessities like blankets, food, and more.

You can be a Difference Maker today, bringing hope to a family in Manipur by providing a Relief Kit for $55! Click here to give a Relief Kit.

You can also join us in prayer for our brothers and sisters who have been affected by this devastating violence. Our team has put together a Virtual Prayer Wall for you to post prayers and words of encouragement to be passed along to our partners in India. Post your prayer here.

As we saw, Esther was brave in going before her husband on behalf of her people. And Christians in Manipur are walking bravely in relationship with God despite violent persecution. How can you be brave in what God is calling you into today?
