October 2025 India Intercessor

President & CEO Todd VanEk with Indian children at a Bible Club

Friends,

I have been blown away again and again by how our Indian brothers and sisters stand in the face of persecution. As anti-Christian opposition grows in their country, these faithful partners never wonder if they are doing the wrong work. In fact, they often see opposition as confirmation that their work is the right work!

These brothers and sisters remind me of James 1, which says, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”

As we get closer to International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church on November 2, I want to invite you to pray with me. But when we pray, our friends in India have not asked us to pray for the persecution to stop. Instead, they ask for prayer for the ability to have pure joy and to persevere. Why?

Because, James says, “having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”

So as we prepare for November 2, will you join me in remembering our brothers and sisters across the world? Will you pray for them, that in the midst of persecution they would receive perseverance, joy, and the crown of life?

It’s a gift to pray with you. I’m so grateful for your prayerful partnership on our mission to see the Kingdom come in India.

Together, for India,

Todd VanEk
President & CEO of Mission India

P.S. Along with your daily prayers this month, I encourage you to sign up for a special International Day of Prayer devotional by going to missionindia.org/idop. Over the week leading up to November 2, engage with unique stories of persecution and specific prayer requests from our partners in India. I look forward to praying with you!
