Dear Friends,
I was recently thinking about the importance of Scripture and the integral part it plays in each of our programs. Did you know that when John DeVries founded this organization, it was originally named Bibles for India? Sharing the Word of God has been foundational to our work from the very beginning!
Still today, Scripture is playing a critical role in the lives of believers we’re reaching through our programs. Church Planters give Bibles to people they minister to, Adult Literacy students learn to read using Scripture, and boys and girls memorize Bible passages in Children’s Bible Clubs. This is more important than ever! As persecution incidents are widespread and severe, His people can stand firm in their faith with encouragement from the Word of God.
With the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church quickly approaching on November 5, I want to extend a special invitation for your church to learn more about persecution in India through a devotional covering what we can learn from it, how we can pray about it, and the role Scripture plays. Our week-long study can be requested at www.missionindia.org/idop. (If you’d like to participate on your own, you can do that here too.)
As we launch the devotional this fall, will you specifically pray over the following?
- That pastors would say YES to guiding their whole church through this week-long study.
- That this devoted week of prayer would open doors for believers in India to share the Gospel in places they previously weren’t welcome.
Thank you for your devoted prayers that bring hope to believers all over India as they face opposition for sharing the Good News.
