Jesus Found Santhi in the Midst of her Chaos
Santhi enjoyed a prosperous life with her husband Gangol and their two children. They believed that because of their devotion, their gods had blessed them with a thriving apple orchard, a beautiful home, and a healthy family. Santhi’s faith in her gods was unwavering.
All that changed when their lives began a downward spiral, catalyzed by Gangol’s growing drug addiction. Their home was thrown into chaos and Gangol was managing the orchard poorly, which negatively impacted their finances. Worst of all, their son followed Gangol’s example and developed his own addiction to drugs.
Santhi questioned the beliefs she’d always held so tightly; why had her gods removed their blessing when her devotion was unchanging?
While searching for answers, Santhi crossed paths with a Church Planter named Shon. Despite her struggles with her own gods, Santhi held a low opinion of Christianity and considered it a religion for the lower castes, not those like her.
Yet Shon surprised her. Instead of making an intellectual argument, Shon shared his personal journey of finding healing and peace with Jesus.
For several months, Santhi pondered Shon’s words, wondering if Jesus could bring peace amidst her chaos, too. Finally, Santhi reached out to Shon to learn more, and he introduced her to Valin — his Church Planter Training mentor. When Santhi heard Valin share the Gospel, her heart was softened. She confessed her sins, receiving salvation!
Yet the Holy Spirit’s work in Santhi was only beginning. Santhi devoted herself to prayer, learning about Jesus through the Bible, and embracing her new community of believers.
Through the power of the Holy Spirit, Gangol and their son soon broke free from addiction, and Gangol also came to faith in Christ!
