Children of God, Please Pray…
Thursday, May 4, was like any other day for Suvan until hundreds of people showed up at the church he helps lead in Manipur, India. In a clash of tribes, attackers burned down the church.
Everything was inside – the sound system that was used for worship, the pulpit, the chairs where faithful believers sat every Sunday…all of it was either looted or burned to the ground.
More than a month later, these persecuted Christians are not just without a building – they’re unable to gather at all. Suvan shares, “We are not able to have worship now because strict instructions were imposed not to have worship services. Therefore, we have no opportunity to worship freely right now.”

Can you imagine losing your church building and the opportunity to gather in worship collectively for over a month? In the middle of such a trying time, a community of believers helps to keep you steadfast in your faith – encouraging and uplifting you. Yet for Suvan’s church, this wasn’t an option.
In fact, for thousands of Christians in Manipur, a weekly gathering with other believers hasn’t been the norm for weeks. More than 300 other churches in Manipur faced similar attacks in May, while tens of thousands of families were displaced. And now, the Christians in this region are calling on us for help. “All pastors and children of God please pray,” Suvan requests.
“All pastors and children of God please pray.”
As fellow believers, we can stand with Christians in Manipur by lifting them up in prayer. As you pray for those who have been affected by the violence, encourage our partners on the ground by posting your prayers to the Virtual Prayer Wall here.
