Sanjan Met Jesus in an Unexpected Place
Sanjan is a hard worker, a loyal person, and devoted to his rituals. Unfortunately, his religious mindset didn’t protect him from the realities of life as he hoped. Sanjan struggled financially, had tension and disputes within his family, and frequently fought with others. The stress of providing for his wife and three children cast a dark shadow over his life.
To Sanjan’s dismay, his sincere prayers and pleas to his idols went unanswered, leaving him frustrated and questioning his religious practices. But then, he unexpectedly ran into a school friend who invited him on an all-expense-paid trip to go visit a temple. Little did Sanjan know this journey would change his life.
An unforeseen experience happened for Sanjan on the trip—while intending to visit the temple, he happened upon a Christian gathering. The uplifting worship songs and teachings of love, hope, and eternal life made an impact on Sanjan. The message of Jesus offered him a glimpse of hope amidst his struggles. Upon returning home, he kept pondering all he had experienced at the Christian gathering. But he hesitated to explore Christianity.
A few weeks later, he overcame his reluctance and approached Church Planter Uddam, who you equipped for ministry and sent to Sanjan’s village. As Uddam shared more about the Gospel with Sanjan, his attitude began to change. In response to the Good News, Sanjan and his wife both received Jesus as their Savior!
Following this life-changing decision, Sanjan and his family stopped taking part in idol worship which enraged some of the other villagers. Despite the opposition, the couple stood firm in their new faith.
Sanjan later teamed up with another Church Planter to share God’s love by visiting members of the community, praying and sharing the Gospel.
