Oh Lord, may our brothers and sisters in Christ of India continue to faithfully be the hands and feet of Jesus to surround the suffering victims of India’s landslides with Your love and compassion to help rescue them in their suffering, to comfort them in the loss of their loved ones and their homes for the sake of Your Name and the Glory of the Same. Then may these victims chosen by you from eternity become enlightened by Your Holy Spirit to Your Truth. May they be led to know Jesus, join our Family of God, the precious Household of Faith and find their own personal role as a body part in the Your Holy Body of Jesus Christ our Lord. Dear Lord, it is difficult to imagine loved ones lost in a flood, unless it has happened to us. Some of us here in the U. S. have lost lost loved ones to floods, too, but each human lost is precious to You-no matter where, no matter who! You, dear Lord, know their families and friends; those whose hearts are broken in loss; please wrap Your arms of love and compassion and mercy around each one, to comfort them in a world suddenly darker with loss. Heavenly Father,
We lift our prayers to you. Send your Spirit to comfort families who are grieving the death of a loved one or are waiting to hear about a loved one who is still missing. We pray that families who have been displaced and have no home to return to will have the strength and the necessary resources to rebuild. We lift prayers for those who can’t get to work because roads, bridges, and buildings have been destroyed. Provide for them, as many were already struggling financially. We pray for those who lost their crops and other means of income due to the flooding. We pray for rescue workers searching for missing people and trying to reunite communities. Lord, we lift our ministry partners in prayer, too, who have a unique opportunity to demonstrate the love of Jesus at this time. Open doors for them to share the Gospel with families in desperate need of hope. In Jesus’ name, AMEN.

Father, thank you that you care enough about the nations to shake them and call them to come to you. It is heartbreaking for us to see. Would you by the power of the Holy Spirit use this sorrowful situation to bring many into your Kingdom? Please provide strength for ministry partners who may feel overwhelmed. Give them direction, resources, and opportunity to help, support, and care for those who have lost family, home, crops, and hope. Help them not to become weary in well-doing, knowing that they will reap if they do not faint. Thank you for the miraculous things you are going to do through Christ in this tragedy to bring glory to Him.
