Reclaim Your Church's Heart for Missions

After much anticipation, we are so excited to release a brand-new report on the U.S. Church’s perspectives on missions, called The Great Disconnect! It’s available NOW—click here to get your copy!

To give you a taste of what led us to today…

Over the past few years, we’ve been hit hard by the statistic that only 37% of U.S. Christians can accurately identify the Great Commission. It’s a tragedy to think that Jesus’ final command in Matthew 28:19—to “go and make disciples of all nations”—is being missed.

The first step toward addressing the gap between believers and the Great Commission is to understand the underlying issues. If their priorities aren’t on global missions, what are they focused on? Are some aspects of global missions more inspiring than others? What are they? And when it comes to financially supporting missions work, what role does the Church play in influencing believers to give?

All of these questions and more are what we discuss in The Great Disconnect report. Learn more in this brief video from Mission India President & CEO, Todd VanEk!

We can’t wait for you to see the findings in this report from Barna Group, a leading research organization focused on the intersection of faith and culture. By asking key questions, we’re seeing even more disconnects within the Church that must be resolved if we want to make disciples of all nations as a complete body of believers.

Among other findings, you’ll discover that:

  • Only 46% of Christians believe the Great Commission is a mandate for all Christians
  • 42% of U.S. Christians do not know whether their church supports any missions organizations
  • Christians are split 50/50 on whether they believe it’s better to send missionaries to other nations or partner with locals
  • 19% of pastors say they do not try to measure their missions work

As you can see, our work is cut out for us as believers who see the Great Commission as foundational to our faith!

We invite you to keep digging into these insights by downloading The Great Disconnect. We can’t wait to hear how it opens your church’s eyes and challenges you to chase after Jesus’ heart for reaching the nations!
