She Counts 2015: Reaching Bihar

Hello, friends! I’ve written before about the plight of women in India, and I LOVE being able to share with you about the burden the Lord has placed on my heart for these precious girls and ladies.

I know that last year, lots of you were involved in our She Counts campaign. (Thank you!) Together, we shared about the plight of women in India … and raised $43,170! That money was used to teach 1,439 women and men in India to read and write—and learn about health and hygiene, basic first aid, the skills to start their own business, and so much more!

One of my favorite things about these classes is that men and women talk about the social problems facing girls and women in their culture (like female infanticide, illiteracy, dowry abuse, and child marriage) and how to combat these evils in their own families and communities. Many women discovered for the first time that they are valuable … especially in the eyes of God!

Well, I’m excited to tell you that we’re bringing back She Counts this year! (And with a special new twist!)

Now through March 9, 2015, we’ll be focusing on raising awareness and funds to help educate 2,100 women and men who are living in India’s most illiterate, impoverished state: Bihar.

Bihar

I can’t think of a place in India with greater need—or greater opportunity!—than Bihar, and I’m so glad we’ll be focusing on it this year for She Counts.

Discover how you can get involved with She Counts. I can’t wait to see what God does through us to impact Bihar, India!
