Bring change to the lives of children in India with the Gospel
Welcome to the Mission India Rice Bag Project!
This engaging 4-week program is designed to encourage children to take part in the Great Commission by raising money for Children's Bible Clubs in India!
The Rice Bag Project is a perfect way to introduce children of all ages to the idea of supporting missions:
- Sunday school classes & small groups
- Christian schools
- Youth groups
- Homeschooling families and co-ops
- And more!
Put your spare change to work! It's as simple as...
- Hand out Rice Bags
Hand out Mission India Rice Bags to your students and explain the challenge of filling them with loose change. Mission India provides a small, informative insert with each Rice Bag to help explain the challenge to parents.
- Collect loose change
Ask your students to collect loose change in their Rice Bags each evening. At the end of the week, have them bring their filled bags to empty into a large container of your choice. Mission India will provide you with stories, photos, and other materials to help keep your kids engaged and motivated each week.
- Send in your change!
At the end of the challenge, count your loose change and write a check or make an online donation for that amount to Mission India, noting that it is for the Rice Bag Project.
Each $1 raised will enroll an Indian child in a Children's Bible Club!
About the Rice Bag Project
The idea came from India.
Many Christians in India are so poor that they are forced to spend most of their money on food. Despite their poverty, they have found a way to give generously to the Lord. Here's how they do it: Each night, a mother takes a handful of uncooked rice and places it in a small cloth bag (or container). When the bag is full, the rice is taken to the church as a gift for the Lord.
We can do this in America, too!
We often have extra coins lying around - in pockets, at the bottom of a purse, between the couch cushions, or in the car. We can also be creative about ways to earn money!
