We’re entering a new year. But soon 2018, like 2017, will be an old year.
What is new? God tells us that all things will be made new. They will never grow old. Even the concept of “old” will go away. Death will be no more. Death in the oceans, on the land, among animals and fish, among plants and trees…nothing in that new world will grow old and die. Death, the end, and the old will be gone. Time will be no more, replaced by eternal, unending love and joy. Never again will there be an old year and a new year.
And there will be no more darkness. “There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever” (Revelation 22:5).
Yes, 2018 is a new year, but before we know it, 2018 will be an old year. This is also the year of two significant anniversaries: 40 years for Mission India and 60 years of marriage for us. It’s an exciting year to celebrate!
We wish you all a happy New Year, but much more: a joyful eternity when there will be no more old and the new will be forever. New, eternal joy and love, without end because we will dwell in the light of God himself.
Until India is transformed,
