“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit – fruit that will last – and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you” (John 15:16).
Alida Terpstra often quotes this verse. And she “bears fruit” by serving others.
Alida worked as a nurse for many years. Today, Alida is an active volunteer with a prison ministry, a food pantry, and church ministry.
She also has a big heart for international missions.
“We need to spread the Gospel to as many people as possible … and especially to those who are in situations where it’s difficult for the Gospel to reach them,” Alida says. “I give to Mission India because I love it so much!”
She has a passion to reach children as well as impoverished adults.
“I think the Adult Literacy programs in India are so worthwhile and such a beautiful way to reach the hearts of people there,” Alida continues. “The women have an opportunity to learn to read and write and have businesses – it’s such a great avenue to improve their economic situation and way of life.”
And Mission India’s Adult Literacy Classes are producing “fruit that will last”!
Alida says, “It’s so valuable because it changes lives – not only for eternity – but the lives of the people presently.”
Alida is glad to be a member of the Mission India Legacy Society.
“It’s ongoing impact. The money that God has given me can be used wisely after I am no longer here. The money given to Mission India is used wisely and a little does a lot in India.”
