Prayer power
Children's faithful prayers are a witness to God's power
India's children are discovering the power of praying to Jesus.April 2, 2008
The power of praying to Jesus.
That's what the youngsters in our Children's Bible Clubs are discovering.
Many of them are being raised in families that pray daily to manmade idols—yet not one of them has witnessed answered prayer … until now.
One of those children is nine-year-old Shalini. She lives in the city of Mumbai (formerly Bombay) and her father has a good job as a supervisor.
But not long after she began attending the Children's Bible Club in her neighborhood, the trouble began.
Shalini’s father was falsely accused of stealing from his employer. Based on flimsy evidence—and without any investigation—the police put him behind bars.
Shalini and her family were desperate. She came to the club and shared her heartache with the teacher and other children.
At that very moment, they gathered around Shalini and prayed for her father.
It didn’t take long before each and every one of these children witnessed the power of answered prayer.
Within days, the real culprits were discovered, and Shalini’s father was released from jail. Not only did his employer apologize—he gave Shalini’s father a promotion!
